Terms of sale

The terms that apply when you use this website or buy a course.

Effective date: October 5, 2026

Who you are dealing with

These terms are an agreement between you and US & Canada Tax School (uscanadataxschool.com), an online school with no physical campus. By creating an account, buying a course or using this website, you agree to them.

To be completed by the school: Legal name of the operating entity — to be confirmed.

Contact: info@uscanadataxschool.com.

Education, not tax or legal advice

Our courses teach tax preparation. They are education only. Nothing in a course, a live session, a webinar or on this website is tax, legal or accounting advice for your own situation or anyone else’s. Tax rules change. Before you prepare a real return, check the current rules with the tax authority or a qualified professional. A certificate from us shows you completed our course. It is not a licence or a professional designation.

Your account

  • One account is for one person. Do not share your login with anyone.
  • Give us accurate details, and keep your password safe.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.
To be completed by the school: confirm the minimum age to enrol (the courses are intended for adults).

Buying a course

Each purchase gives you access to the course or courses you bought, delivered online through your student account. The lessons, knowledge checks and assessments are the ones listed on the course page.

Price and payment. The price is the one shown at checkout, in the currency you selected, with sales taxes included. You pay by card through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Bundles. Sometimes we offer several courses together at a discount. A bundle is one purchase. Each course in the bundle opens in your account in the same way as a course bought on its own.

Referral codes. A partner referral code tells us which partner referred you. It does not change the price. Partners never collect fees from you.

Access

Your course opens as soon as your payment goes through. We email you a link to set your password. Where a course runs in intakes, you choose an open intake when you buy, and your access ends when that intake finishes. The end date is shown before you pay.

Graded assessments run inside Safe Exam Browser, a free locked-down browser for Windows and Mac. See how to set it up.

Certificates

When you complete a course and pass its assessments, you receive a certificate with a code anyone can check on this site.

Refunds

Refunds follow our refund policy. In short: you can get a full refund if you ask within 14 days of buying, have completed no more than two lessons, and have not attempted any quiz or assessment.

To be completed by the school: how the refund policy applies to a bundle. The proposed approach is to apply the rule to the bundle as a whole (counting lessons and quiz attempts across all its courses), but the refund policy page does not yet say so.

Course materials belong to us

All course materials — lessons, slides, videos, recordings, quizzes, case studies, practice-client exercises, workbooks and other content — are owned by US & Canada Tax School or its licensors and are protected by copyright.

When you buy a course, we give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use its materials for your own learning while your access lasts. You may not:

  • share your login or let anyone else use your access;
  • copy, download, screen-record or otherwise record lessons, live sessions or assessments, except where we expressly allow it;
  • share, publish, sell or resell any course material;
  • use our materials to create, or help create, another course, training program or product, including one that imitates the structure or content of ours; or
  • share assessment questions or answers, or get help from anyone during an assessment.

Using the website

Do not try to get around our security, access another person’s account or data, interfere with the website, or use automated tools to copy its content. Do not type real personal or tax information about yourself or anyone else into the AI practice-client exercises.

If these terms are broken

If you break these terms, we may suspend or end your access to a course or your account. If access ends for that reason, you are not entitled to a refund beyond what the refund policy provides. We may also take other steps the law allows to protect our materials.

Changes to courses

We update courses to keep them current with tax rules and to improve them. Lessons, schedules and instructors may change.

Limitation of liability

To be completed by the school: this whole clause must be reviewed by a lawyer before it is relied on. Proposed wording follows.

We provide the courses and website as they are. We do our best to keep them accurate and available, but we do not promise they will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from how you use what you learn, including on real tax returns. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal information, and our data security page explains how we protect it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Manitoba have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version here and change the effective date. The terms in force when you bought a course apply to that purchase. If a change is significant, we will tell students by email.
